چکیده

Fisher information, which lies at the heart of parameter estimation theory, was recently found to have a close relation with multipartite entanglement L. Pezzé and A. Smerzi, Phys. Rev. Lett. 102, 100401 2009 . We use Fisher information to distinguish and characterize behaviors of ground state of the Lipkin-Meskhov-Glick model, which displays a second-order quantum phase transition between the broken and symmetric phases. We find that the parameter sensitivity of the system attains the Heisenberg limit in the broken phase, while it is just around the shot-noise limit in the symmetric phase. Based on parameter estimation, Fisher information provides us a useful approach to the quantum phase transition.

Finite-size scaling exponents of the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model.

We study the ground state properties of the critical Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model. Using the Holstein-Primakoff boson representation, and the continuous unitary transformation technique, we compute explicitly the finite-size scaling exponents for the energy gap, the ground state energy, the magnetization, and the spin-spin correlation functions. Finally, we discuss the behavior of the two-spin en...

Equivalence of critical scaling laws for many-body entanglement in the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model.

We establish a relation between several entanglement properties in the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model, which is a system of mutually interacting spins embedded in a magnetic field. We provide analytical proofs that the single-copy entanglement and the global geometric entanglement of the ground state close to and at criticality behave as the entanglement entropy. These results are in deep contrast ...

Quantum spin tunneling in a soluble quasi-spin model: An angle-based potential description

We propose an approach which allows to construct and use a potential function written in terms of an angle variable to describe interacting spin systems. We show how this can be implemented in the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick, here considered a paradigmatic spin model. It is shown how some features of the energy gap can be interpreted in terms of a spin tunneling. A discrete Wigner function is construc...

We present the many-particle Hamiltonian model of Lipkin, Meshkov and Glick in the context of deformed polynomial algebras and show that its exact solutions can be easily and naturally obtained within this formalism. The Hamiltonian matrix of each j multiplet can be split into two submatrices associated to two distinct irreps of the deformed algebra. Their invariant subspaces correspond to even...

Shortcut to adiabaticity in the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model.

We study transitionless quantum driving in an infinite-range many-body system described by the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model. Despite the correlation length being always infinite the closing of the gap at the critical point makes the driving Hamiltonian of increasing complexity also in this case. To this aim we develop a hybrid strategy combining a shortcut to adiabaticity and optimal control that...
